St. Paul’s Mission

St. Paul Lutheran Church exists to help people to Know Christ, Grow in Christ, and Show Christ to our world.

Know Christ

“Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.” — Psalm 100:2

As we know Jesus Christ for who he is and what he was done for us, we want to worship him. We know Jesus through Worship because:

  • There we hear his Word read, proclaimed, and taught.

  • There we sing his Word and its teachings to one another in song.

  • There we receive the promises of his word through Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Whole Family Worship

In the early Christian church, worship was simply the families gathering together to hear God’s Word and to thank, praise, and pray to him. At St. Paul, we follow an order of worship that is intended for God’s people of all ages to do just that.

Grow in Christ

Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” — 2 Peter 3:15

We grow in Christ as we study God’s Word together and pray together. God promises to strengthen our relationship with him as we grow and to equip us for relationships with others. We have a number of ways for you to grow in your relationship with God:

  • Adult Bible Studies: These interactive studies are led by the pastors on a Book of the Bible or a relevant topic. They meet in the large downstairs room in the church building. There are two weekly Bible Study opportunities

    • Sunday Mornings from 9:15-10:10 as part of our Family Bible Hour

    • Wednesday Mornings from 10:00-11:00 am

  • Youth Confirmation Class - A thorough study of the Bible gives a foundation that will last a lifetime.  This class is offered to students enrolled in St. Paul School and those who are in Tomah public schools.

  • Sunday School class for kids ages 3-13. As a part of our family Bible hour, this ministry provides kids with an age-appropriate lesson to show them their Savior and teach them his Word.

  • A Lutheran Elementary School - At St. Paul School, children are taught to read, write, and do math, but most importantly, they are taught the truths of the Bible, so that they grow up to be faithful Christian adults.

Show Christ

“Let your light shine before others, that they see your good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven.” - Matthew 5:16

We show Christ to our community and world through loving acts of service and by inviting them to know Jesus like we do.

Some activities include:

  • Journey to Bethlehem

  • Easter for Kids

  • Vacation Bible School

  • Trunk or Treat
